How to play Match 3

The board is an 8×8 grid of six gem types. Tap a gem, then tap an orthogonally adjacent gem (up, down, left or right — no diagonals) to swap them. A swap is only allowed if it creates a line of three or more identical gems; an illegal swap snaps back and costs you nothing. Matched gems clear, the gems above them fall to fill the gaps, and fresh gems drop in from the top. Any new matches formed by the falling gems clear automatically — that's a cascade, and each step in a chain raises your combo multiplier for bigger and bigger scores.

Special gems guide

• Striped gem (match 4): line up four in a row to forge a striped gem. Matching it later clears an entire row (from a horizontal four) or column (from a vertical four). The inset bars show which way it fires.
• Color-bomb (match 5 in a line): line up five to forge a color-bomb — a faceted dark gem with a multi-color shimmer. Swap it with any normal gem to clear every gem of that color on the board. It's the biggest, most satisfying clear in the game.
• L and T shapes forge a striped gem too. Specials can be caught in later matches to chain even more clears.

Game modes

• Score Target: reach a target score within a limited number of moves to clear the level and earn one to three stars, then climb an endless ladder of levels. Run out of moves below target? Just retry the level or start fresh — there is never a "buy more moves to continue" trap.
• Relax: endless, no move limit and no fail state — match for a high score at your own pace.
• Daily Challenge: one shared board for everyone in the world that day, so scores are directly comparable. Finish it to build a daily streak and share a spoiler-free emoji result.
